Finding the Perfect Fit: A Guide to Sizing Yourself

Finding the Perfect Fit: A Guide to Sizing Yourself

When it comes to undergarments, comfort and fit are non-negotiable. Yet, finding the perfect-fitting pull-on bra can be a daunting task, with a multitude of styles, brands, and sizes to choose from. The good news is that sizing yourself for a pull-on bra doesn't have to be a mystery. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to ensure you find the right fit, making your everyday wear more comfortable and confidence-boosting.

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

Before you begin, make sure you have the essentials at hand:

  • A soft measuring tape
  • A mirror
  • A pen and paper
  • Your best-fitting, non-padded pull-on bra

Step 2: Measure Your Band Size

The band size is the number part of your pull-on bra size (e.g., 36 in 36C). To find your band size, follow these steps:

  1. Stand in front of a mirror and wrap the measuring tape around your ribcage, just under your bust.
  2. Ensure the tape is snug but not tight, and make sure it's parallel to the ground.
  3. Take the measurement in centimetres and round it to the nearest whole number. If it's an even number, add 10 centimetres. If it's an odd number, add 12 centimetres. For example, if your measurement is 78 centimetres, your band size would be 90.

Step 3: Measure Your Bust Size

The bust size is the letter part of your pull-on bra size (e.g., C in 36C). To measure your bust size, follow these steps:

  1. Stand in front of the mirror and measure around the fullest part of your bust. Make sure the tape is level and not too tight.
  2. Round your measurement to the nearest whole number.

Step 4: Calculate Your Cup Size

To determine your cup size, subtract your band size from your bust measurement. Use the difference to find your cup size based on the following:

  • 10 centimeters: A cup
  • 15 centimeters: B cup
  • 20 centimeters: C cup
  • 25 centimeters: D cup
  • 30 centimeters: DD (E) cup
  • 35 centimeters: DDD (F) cup
  • 40 centimeters: G cup
  • And so on...

For example, if your band size is 90 centimetres and your bust measurement is 105 centimetres, the difference is 15 centimetres, making you a 90B.

Step 5: Be Open to Change

Remember that your pull-on bra size can change over time due to factors like weight fluctuations, pregnancy, or aging. Therefore, it's a good idea to get measured regularly, ideally once a year.

Finding the perfect-fitting pull-on bra doesn't have to be a daunting task. Armed with the right measurements and an understanding of your size, you'll be well on your way to comfortable and confidence-boosting undergarments. So, embrace the process, and let your pull-on bras work with you, not against you.
